Domestic Builder Limited DB-L

A Domestic Builder Limited (DB-L) license allows a builder to perform specific types of domestic building work, as defined by the Victorian Building Authority (VBA). Unlike an Unlimited (DB-U) license, a DB-L holder is restricted to certain categories, such as:
carpentry
bathroom renovations
kitchen installations
swimming pools
non-structural alterations.

Domestic Builder Unlinited DB-U

A Domestic Builder Unlimited (DB-U) license allows a builder to:
construct
renovate
extend
manage all types of domestic buildings, including houses, townhouses, and apartments up to three stories. DB-U license holders can undertake structural and non-structural work, coordinate subcontractors.

Commercial Builder Limited CB-L

A Commercial Builder Limited (CB-L) license allows a builder to perform specific types of commercial construction work as defined by the Victorian Building Authority (VBA). CB-L holders are restricted to certain categories, such as fit-outs, structural alterations, shopfront installations, or non-structural refurbishments. The exact scope depends on the endorsements granted under the CB-L classification.
